Depression and suicide, do some medications cause suicidal thoughts to worsen?

One of the common symptoms that a large number of individuals experience when they are suffering from depression, would be thoughts of suicide and thoughts of causing harm to themselves. Often times the symptoms of depression can become this severe because the individual has not tried to receive any type of help for their depression.

Some individuals may begin to experience suicidal thoughts if the current medications that they are taking for their depression stops working as well as it used to work. Then, there are other times that the prescription medications that are prescribed to some depression sufferers can end up causing the individual to experience thoughts of ending their life. Unfortunately, this is a severe side effect that can happen with several different types of anti-depressants that are prescribed to those suffering from depression.

Some medications are especially known to cause these thoughts to worsen in those that are in the teenage age group. As soon as these types of thoughts are noticed, it is extremely important to seek professional help. For some, the problem that they are facing could be as simple as changing the medication they are taking.
