What is major depressive disorder?

Out of the different types of depression that have been classified, major depressive disorder has yet to be one that has been classified in a category by itself. Instead, professionals in the medical field have determined this type of disorder to be one that is simply a more severe form of unipolar depression.

There is one distinguishable difference between unipolar depression and major depressive order, however. Unipolar depression is a condition that can be attributed various causes that would include events that the individual has had to face that can be sigtuations that have happened either indirectly or directly to the individual.

These can be situations where the bouts of depression have been brought on by an illness that has occurred, side effects that have been caused by some type of drug, and stressful events that have been experienced in the individual’s life. Major depression is not caused by known causes as it is with unipolar depression. More detailed information can be found on each of these disorders on the World Wide Web, and it is important to educate yourself if you think you may be suffering from either condition.
