Can drug interactions occur with depression medicines?

Drug interactions can very commonly occur with antidepressants just as any other medication. Drug interactions in depression medicines may cause to decrease the effectiveness of the medication or on the contrary it may even trigger or increase the effect of the medication.

In both cases the effectiveness of the medication would get affected and the patient would have to suffer. Drug interactions may occur when two or more medications are used by a person at the same time, the constituents of the multiple medicines may cause them to react with each other and eventually affect the human body. Drug interactions may cause problems such as irregular blood pressure, lack of concentration, dizziness etc. Drug interactions with depression medicines may also at times give rise to another health issue unrelated to the main cause of concern.

This kind of a reaction is something like a side effect where a new health issue is developed due to the reaction of two medicines. To avoid drug interactions between depression medicines it is important to inform the doctor or pharmacist about any continued medication, it is also important for the patient to gain information about any potential drug interactions before actually consuming the medicines.
