As it was known as many years ago, manic depression is a psychosomatic disorder that is more commonly referred to today as bipolar affective depression, and the individual with this disorder can experience both mania symptoms, as well as well as those of unipolar depression. Manic depression can be a very serious psychosomatic disorder that is often not easy for the individual with the disorder and the family members of the patient.
