Paroxetine CR is an antidepressant that is manufactured by Glaxo Smith Kline and is used in the treatment of depression. This antidepressant is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor also known as a class of SSRI antidepressant.
The way that Paroxetine CR helps to decrease the symptoms of depression is by affecting the neurotransmitters, which are chemicals found in the brain that are used to communicated within the body. Experts believe that the imbalance of neurotransmitters is the cause of depression and anxiety disorders. The function of Paroxetine is to prevent the reuptake of the neurotransmitter serotonin  by the nerve cells, which will help to decrease the symptoms of depression.

This is considered a long term treatment for the depression, anxiety and panic disorders it is prescribed for and is an FDA approved antidepressant. Peroxetine CR is a generic Paxil CR antidepressant and the recommended dosage of the antidepressant can be between 20 mg and 60 mg per day.
