Paxil, or paroxetine hydrochloride is an antidepressant drug that is available in both liquid and tablet form. This drug is used to treat various condition like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Anxiety Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, to name a few. Paxil suspension is also employed in the treatment of Off-Label disorders like autism, dementia, and alcoholism.
The drug Paxil is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. It acts on the chemical serotonin that is present within the brain. Serotonin is present in the synapse of the nerve cells of the brain. A lower level of serotonin can cause depression on an individual. While most people take adapt to Paxil suspension usage without any side effect, instances of constipation, drowsiness and headaches are not rare.
Paxil suspension is available in bottles of 250ml and is orange in color and flavored so as well. Paxil suspension must be stored in a temperature condition of not more than 25 degree Celsius. Before taking the suspension it must be shaken well. From a minimum dosage of 5mL per day, Paxil suspension can be taken in a maximum dosage of 30mL, depending upon the condition of an individual. Overdose of Paxil suspension can cause a number of side effects.
