Perphenazine Side Effects

Like all medications, Perphenazine also has some side effects associated with it. Common side effects of Perphenazine include insomnia, headache, drowsiness, nausea, loss of appetite, blurred vision, and photosensitivity.  Some patients who have received this medication have reported experiencing a loss of libido and ejaculation problems during the course of treatment.

A point to note is that Perphenazine can cause false positive results in a pregnancy test. Therefore, women who suspect that they are pregnant and get a positive result while taking this medication should get the pregnancy confirmed by a doctor. Some serious side effects of Perphenazine include irregular heart beat or arrhythmia, an increase or decrease in blood sugar levels, increase or decrease in blood pressure levels, muscle spasms, seizures, restlessness, involuntary or unusual movements of the tongue, face or body, restlessness. Some women may experience menstrual irregularities, abnormal hair growth.
