Some of the common symptoms of depression are: 

1. Frequent change in mood, irritation and frequent crying in children.

2. A person may become lazy and does not show interest in any activity.

3. Change in the weight which may be increase or decrease in weight on its own.

4. Lack of sleep with irritation while sleeping or too much sleep.

5. The person affected by depression will not show any physical activity and will feel restless throughout the day.

6. Feeling of exhaustion

7. A person suffering from depression may get guilty feeling and will think that no one cares for him and loves him. He feels as if he is waste and odes not serve any importance.

8. The brain of the person suffering from depression does not function properly, the person loses thinking ability, will not be able to make any correct decisions, will always remain in confusion.

9. A depressed frequently gets thoughts of death and suicide. Most of the suicide cases all over the world are because those people are suffering from depression.
