How to Take Paxil Suspension

Antidepressants like Paxil must always be taken in accordance with the prescription. In case of an overdose, it might cause harmful side effects on an individual. Paxil oral suspension is an orange color and orange flavored medicine. Per 5mL of Paxil oral suspension is equivalent to 10mg of Paxil oral tablets. The oral suspension of Paxil is available in bottles of 250mL.

In case of a Major Depressive Disorder, a patient is prescribed a 10mL dosage of Paxil suspension per day. However, if the patient fails to respond positively with this dosage, the dosage might be increased up to 25mL per day. Panic disorder patients are advised with a Paxil dosage ranging from a 5mL per day to up to 30mL per day.

Social Anxiety Disorder calls for a Paxil suspension dosage of 10mL to 30mL per day.

The treatment dosage of Paxil oral suspension for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is usually 20mL per day. This could be increased to a maximum of 30mL per day in case the initial dosage does not bring any results. The recommended oral suspension dosage of Paxil in case of Generalized Anxiety Disorder is 10mL per day, which can be increased up to 25mL per day. It must be remembered that the increasing of the dosage must be done at a slow pace of 5mL per week.
