The dosage can range from 20 mg to 50 mg per day, according to clinical trials. 50 mg, however, is the maximum dosage.
In the later stages of depression 30 mg of Paxil can be given for maintenance.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or OCD can be treated with 40 mg of Paxil on a regular basis. This is the recommended dosage of the medicine to be taken in the morning. Patients are required to start from 20 mg per day, and the dosage can be increased by 10 mg daily to reach 60 mg per day.
For treating panic disorder with Paxil, the usual recommended dosage to be started with is 10 mg per day. However, a steady rise of 10 mg each day up to 60 mg is considered to be the required dosage of Paxil for this condition.
In case of social anxiety disorder, 20 mg per day of Paxil is the recommended dose that can be increased up to 60 mg per day based on the condition of the patient. However, there is not additional benefit of taking more than 20 mg per day.
