Ways of handling the depression of the cold winter

It is true that there are several individuals who absolutely love the cold air of the winter. However, there are numerous others who often go through the woes of depression, as soon as the cold gray skies begin to move in for the winter. Below you will find a few tips on being able to make it through winter without feeling so depressed.

    • Lighten things up a bit – The long winter days are not nearly as bright as the bright days of the summer. Add some extra light to liven things up. It’s easy, just purchase an extra lamp, or buy higher wattage light bulbs.
    • Splash some color around – Some people may not realize it, but colors around you can have a huge affect on how you feel. If the rooms of your home or office are drab, add some bright colors and take advantage of the happier mood your home can provide.
    • Relax to Aromatherapy – Color and light are not the only things that can brighten a drab winter day, your sense of smell has a lot more power than you think in affecting how you feel. Essential oils can do wonders!
