When a person suffers from depression, it is a type of condition that can often affect many different areas of the child’s personal life. It can affect your physical body by causing you to have insomnia, feelings of fatigue, feeling lethargic, causing you to eat more, or less than usual, problems being able to concentrate, poor performance, irritability, anger, and increased sadness, along with many other possible side effects.
One very problematic symptom of depression for children, teens, and young adults is the problem with focusing and concentrating because they are still in school. When a child cannot concentrate it becomes very hard for them to get work done in school. When a child experiences this it can cause them to feelings of hopelessness, thinking that it is their fault and it cannot be fixed.
If parents can identify these issues before they become a big issue with school and grades, they can get their children on medications that can benefit them a great deal and help them to be able to get back on track in school. |
